According to the director, this was a difficult production which focused on expressing the physchology of the actors themselves. This time, instead of creating the characters before production, I decided to meet the actors first before setting up the characters. Rather than wanting the actors to immerse themselves acting out the roles the way I wish of them, I wanted to be completely led by everything inside of the actors. [She means what she sees in the individual actors and wrote their characters instinctively based on their unique characteristics, rather than what she desired them to be.]

For dramas which are broadcast as they being filmed, there will be the reactions of the viewers, and you would be able to review their opinions and consider adjusting the way you write the story. But since this is a pre-produced drama, does this pose a problem?Of course, if you write a drama while it is being broadcast, you would have to endure the viewers’ reactions and opinions. But until now, I have never once altered my script because of the audience’s reaction, so working on a pre-produced drama doesn’t make much of a difference to me. On hindsight, if I was over-conscious about the reactions of the audience, I would never be able to produce memorable dramas.

What was your biggest worry? The health of the actors. This entire production was more exhausting than I imagined it to be. Even though this drama involves a love story, it is not just about the actors looking pretty and good. I had to think about what they should experience together, and therefore, how to write correspondingly about their relationships with each other. It was an interesting process.
I had to make sure I maintained the structure of the relationships between these three people – what to add on or to extract, but at the same time ensure all three relationships came across equal in strength, and remained exciting at all times. I didn’t want anyone of them to be called a villain – but each time any of them entered the scene, I want the viewers to be able to understand and emphatise with them. That was my aim when I wrote their characters.

Is there going to be a bromance that will move the viewers. It is about the love between two men and one woman. But this is not about the typical romance between men and women – this is about genuine love between human beings. Until now, most love stories between men and women are commonly about liking someone and wanting to make that person your property. This story focuses on how, as a human being, you can show love to another human being. After which, the story shows how noble one person’s love can be for another person. This noble love can be beautiful, but can come at an immeasurable cost. I think the viewers would not have experienced such a love story before.
